Hiring – Police Secretary
The Plumstead Township Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Secretary. The non-uniformed position will report directly to the Chief of Police and assist in the day-to-day administration of the service. Duties may include handling walk-in complaints, answering phone calls, filing documents, and various other clerical duties. Additional responsibilities include data entry and various assignments to support the function of the police department.
Successful candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills as well as a working knowledge of up-to-date computer software. Experience with common Microsoft applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access and Publisher is required. Preferred candidates should have previous experience in police administration and/or experience in criminal justice, courts or corrections. A high school diploma or equivalent with administrative training and/or work experience is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment background check after the offer and candidates may be required to acquire additional certifications after employment.
