Tour de Tacos cycling event to benefit working women and families

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) – Dress for Success Northwestern Arkansas will host the third annual Tour de Tacos cycling event on September 9.

According to a Dress for Success press release, the event will benefit women and families who use their services for economic independence by finding jobs, removing barriers in the labor market and providing skills resources. clothing professionals, CV writing and career coaching.

The event will begin and end at KeyPoint Church in Bentonville. The event includes 100, 62, 30 and 7 mile bike rides along the Razorback Greenway trail system with restaurants and businesses set up to provide riders with food and hydration.

The release says the event is expected to involve more than 700 cyclists from more than 14 different states.

“We are so grateful to everyone who participates in the Taco Tour and BBQ Tour events each year to help women and children in the community,” said Rachel Cox, Executive Director of Dress for Success NWA. “These events are not just about raising money for the cause, but also raising awareness about the need to help women become economically independent, create healthy taxpayers, contributors and empower families. long-term success, which benefits the community as a whole. Riders will vote for their favorite taco stop after the ride, and the most voted stop will receive the Rider’s Choice award. All proceeds from the event will benefit Dress for Success NWA.

According to the statement, the event will also hold a brief flag ceremony and a moment of silence for the 9/11 anniversary before each outing.

The walks will take place as follows:

  • 100 miles – 6:30 a.m.
  • 62 miles – 7:30 a.m.
  • 30 miles – 8:30 a.m.
  • 7 miles – 9:30 a.m.

Online registration for the event closes September 6, and registration day for the event will open at KeyPoint Church at 6 a.m. The event website is available here.
