Researchers at Harvard University have found that middle-aged adults are “noticeably” more likely to be depressed if they use platforms favored by young people, such as TikTok and Snapchat, perhaps because it does so. makes them feel old.

Digging a little deeper, the scientists found that while older people reported feeling more depressed after using TikTok and Snapchat, those under 35 reported feeling more depressed if they used Facebook. Why would that be? One theory is that people feel more out of place using social media that doesn’t match their age profile, causing them to feel out of sync.
