Loveland Swim Club, www.lovelandswimclub.com, is located in northern Colorado about an hour north of Denver. Colorado is a beautiful state with incredible opportunities for outdoor activities. Northern Colorado is one of the fastest growing regions in the United States
Loveland Swim Club is a growing program with approximately 180 swimmers year-round. The Loveland Swim Club also operates a swimming school which provides over 800 lessons per month. Loveland Swim Club hosts 5 to 8 meetings per year. The organization also operates a summer sports and academic day camp, www.lovelandsportscamp.com, which provides athletic opportunities, academic programs, and child care to more than 200 children each summer in the town of Loveland and surroundings. The Loveland Swim Club trains in 3 different SCY pools and an LCM pool in the summer.
In 2021, Loveland Swim Club was one of the top bronze medal winning teams in the USA Swimming Club Excellence rankings. In 2022, we expect to exceed this. In 2021, Loveland Swim Club placed 25th in the Winter Juniors West Combined Team Rankings. Over the past year, we have doubled the number of LSC Championship qualifiers by age group and aim to compete at the pinnacle of the sport in the State of Colorado and in the United States.
The position:
We are looking to hire a full-time Senior Age Group Coach who would lead, design and nurture the growth of younger Novices while working within the team’s mission/vision/values statement (see website www.lovelandswimclub.com). Our main goal is to develop a team culture and grow while maintaining a high level of retention.
The essential duties of the position include:
1) Abide by the USA Swimming Code of Conduct and the policies and procedures of the Loveland Swim Club.
2) Plan, prepare and conduct team practices in agreement with the head coach and staff.
3) Establish a local presence and reputation in the Northern Colorado swimming region. There are opportunities for any coach on our staff to work with local college and high school teams in Loveland and surrounding areas.
4) Plan and execute team building and social functions.
5) Assist the head coach in meeting operations
6) The position may have the opportunity to co-lead our summer camp for significant additional compensation.
Preferred qualifications include:
1) Coaching membership in good standing with USA Swimming.
2) A college degree (preferred, but not required).
3) Applicants must have a background that exemplifies exceptional communication and motivational skills with children, considering a variety of social, emotional and physical attributes, possess an attitude of inclusion and team building,
4) Must be willing to develop talent rather than managing great athletes. We are looking for someone with experience in developing beginner and intermediate level swimmers.
5) Must want to increase the number of athletes who swim into their teens and increase the number of athletes who qualify for championship opportunities.
6) Must have a record of producing well balanced swimmers with strong biomechanics.
Good to have:
Experience with Hytek Meet Manager.
Experience in managing social media platforms.
Experience with the Adobe suite, in particular Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
Wage scale: $35,000 to $55,000 and more depending on experience. Additional compensation will include bonuses and other benefits.
Full-time benefits: Cell phone allowance, health care allowance, 4 weeks paid vacation per year, potential compensation for running a summer camp of $6,000+. Performance bonuses. Moving costs as needed. Pursue opportunities for education and support.
Start date: August 2022 or as soon as available.
