Reach Architects is a design company founded in 2012 in Austin, TX. We are a small, tight-knit group that emphasizes design with social impact. We work with a diverse clientele and have a varied portfolio of projects. We are currently looking to hire someone who will be able to manage / manage their own residential and small commercial projects from concept design to construction documents in a collaborative environment. We design in Rhino and draw by hand. All drawing production is done in Revit, so proficiency in the software is expected.

We see this person having at least an Architect 1 experience level.

At this time, we do not hire young graduates with little or no work experience.

Definition of the position of architect I:

Five or more years of experience, licensed architect who exercises independent judgment in the evaluation, selection and use of standard techniques, resolves problems encountered and receives advice on complex projects. Qualified architect competent in all conventional aspects of architecture. Performs work requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection and adaptation / modification of techniques, procedures and standard criteria. Independently resolves problems encountered. Receive technical advice on unusual or complex issues and approval from supervision on proposed project plans.

Job description:

Manage small commercial and residential projects from the early phases of the project to the production of architectural drawing sets and specifications with limited supervision / direction.

Collaborate / contribute effectively to all phases of the design

Responsibilities:

Participation in client and consultant coordination meetings initially, with the ability to lead meetings within 3 months

Provide schematic design assistance at first, with the ability to lead the project design within 3 months

Production of design, development and construction documents

Participation in construction administration

Qualifications required:

5+ years of experience in an architectural firm

Proficient in Revit 2019 or newer, Rhino, Adobe Suite

In-depth knowledge of design and construction processes

The ability to work in a team

The permit is a plus, but not required. It is necessary to know what you are doing and how a building fits together.

Open office of (currently) four friendly employees

Studio environment
