CUHK’s Department of Philosophy is Hong Kong’s largest philosophy program. He is pluralist, with equal strengths in analytical, Asian and Continental philosophy. It has been consistently ranked as the best philosophy department in Asia and one of the best in the world. The Department is now calling for applications for a position in Analytical Philosophy. (AOS: Epistemology, Metaphysis, Philosophy of Language, Philosophy of Mind, Logic and / or Philosophy of Science, AOC: Open) Applicants must have a relevant PhD at time of employment.

Duties include (a) the pursuit of academic research and publications; (b) apply for external research grants; (c) give four courses per year over two semesters in philosophy (first cycle and higher cycle) and general education; (d) supervise and examine postgraduate students; and (e) assist in the administrative work of the department, college, faculty and university.

The appointment will normally be made on the basis of a contract of up to 3 years from August 2022 which, subject to budget, performance and mutual agreement, may lead to a longer term appointment. or a subsequent justification. Outstanding candidates for the rank of Professor or Associate Professor may be specially considered for substantive appointment immediately.
