Kaplan Thompson Architects is an architectural firm in Portland, Maine, excited to offer a full-time, paid internship opportunity in the summer of 2022 for an emerging interior designer. Qualified candidates for this position should have less than two years of work experience and be current students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Interior Design or a related field.

The Interior Design Intern will participate in a variety of projects, both internal and client facing, in close partnership with our established Interior Design Department. Assigned duties may include developing and organizing the company’s materials library, sourcing materials and ordering samples, producing presentation materials, and supporting interior designers on customer projects. customers, on request.

The Interior Design Intern position is a non-remote position and requires a physical presence in our Portland, Maine office. We assume a start date in early June and an end date in late August, with flexibility based on applicant needs. Compensation will be hourly based on experience, with limited benefits including a transportation allowance, paid federal holidays, and three paid days off.
