Fort Campbell, Kentucky – The Fort Campbell Transition Assistance Program will host a two-day career fair on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 26-27, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cole Park Commons Community Activities Center, located at 1610 101st Airborne Division Road.
“The job fair is open to the public. Participants will be able to interact with more than 50 local, regional and national employers during the event. Applicants should come to the career fair with a resume in hand and dressed in casual attire, as many employers conduct on-site interviews, ”said Cory Wingfield, Transition Services Specialist, TAP.
“Preparation is the key to success,” he said. “Individuals should start by making sure their resumes are up to date, checking their wardrobes to make sure they have the attire to ‘dress for success’ and make sure they are in. able to access mail by gathering all required documents. ”
For those new to Fort Campbell, there is a Visitor Control Center at TC Freeman Gate. The documents required to obtain a visitor’s pass include an active driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance.
The two-day career fair will feature local and national employers, as well as those hiring for jobs overseas. On-site services are available for soldiers and spouses who may need help with editing a resume or advice on what to wear.
“The Transition Assistance Program offers courses such as resume writing, dress code and salary negotiation,” Wingfield said. “Individuals can call 270.798.5000 to inquire about upcoming courses and registration. “
Staff at the Spouse Employment Center, 5662 Screaming Eagle Boulevard, can help spouses write resumes and conduct interviews. In partnership with the USO Pathfinder Transition Program and the Armed Services YMCA, the Spouse Employment Center can also provide a clothing voucher that allows soldiers and transitioning spouses to obtain a free outfit from work clothes.
