The School of Architecture was officially launched by Frank Lloyd Wright as a Taliesin Fellowship in 1932 to provide a total learning environment that would foster responsible, creative and cultured human beings. Apprentices, as Fellowship members were called, gained experience not only in architecture, but also in construction, agriculture, gardening and cooking, as well as the study of nature, music. , art and dance. Today, the school offers the Master of Architecture (M.Arch) and Master of Science in Architecture (MS.Arch) degrees through one of the most unique educational experiences available in higher education. .

The Admissions Director is a remote hybrid position that manages the student recruitment and enrollment process, from survey to enrollment. This role requires considerable interaction with prospective students. The position serves as the primary contact for prospective students and their families and provides exceptional communication and customer service to meet annual enrollment goals. The Director of Admissions creates and maintains effective processes that ensure timely processing of applications, communications with students, and measurable results.

Essential functions:

  • Collaborates with the Dean and President to design and implement a comprehensive strategic plan, including 90-day, 6-month, and one-year renewable strategies for the admission of new students
  • Increases the percentage of registrations through the experience and diligence of following up on correspondence and routine telephone conversations
  • Introduces the school to prospective students, which includes responding immediately to admission requests; effective management of communication with applicants and applicants; campus visits; interviews with candidates; provisions for admission tests; obtain the necessary credentials for students; and communicate final enrollment decisions to the appropriate people
  • Provides outreach and support to international students in support of TSOA’s annual recruitment and enrollment goals
  • Leads the development of student recruitment and admissions material, ensures website and social media content is up-to-date and accurate
  • Fosters good relationships and creates networking and support opportunities with representatives of institutions or external groups that can be helpful in attracting students
  • Works with current and former students to attract potential students; develops and maintains ties with alumni
  • Ensures monitoring systems are in place to track compliance with all federal and state laws
  • Acts as the Designated Elementary School Officer (PDSO) on the US Department of Homeland Security (SEVIS) Student and Exchange Visitor Information System

Minimum skills:

  • Must have experience in recruiting students to higher education, preferably post-secondary education
  • Baccalaureate required
  • Proven expertise in recruiting and supporting inquiries throughout the registration process
  • Experience in developing and leading successful student recruitment campaigns
  • Marketing and promotion experience
  • Familiarity with Frank Lloyd Wright and the unique nature of the programs and residence life at the school an asset but not required
  • Ability to communicate succinctly and clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Proven ability to work with a wide range of senior executives, professionals and suppliers
  • An entrepreneurial, efficient work ethic with ownership and responsibility
  • Demonstrated flexibility, efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner and make sound, independent judgments
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce, email marketing software (MailerLite, Mailchimp)
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Some managerial experience in post-secondary education is preferred
  • Higher education experience in international recruitment, admissions and financial aid at a private residential facility preferred
