Engineer Omotayo Bamgbose-Martins has been appointed commissioner for land use planning and urban development.
According to a statement signed Friday by the Deputy Director of Public Affairs of the Lagos State Ministry of Land and Urban Development, Mulaila Sanusi, Bamgbose-Martins was warmly welcomed by the senior staff of the ministry, headed by the Special Advisor to the Governor on e-GIS and Planning Issues, Dr. Olajide Babatunde, and the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe.
The Commissioner described his redeployment as another call to duty and an opportunity to work with like minds to overcome the challenges facing the built environment, including stopping the trajectory of building collapse, while at the same time urging staff members to cooperate and be prepared to contribute meaningfully to development. of State.
Bamgbose, who promised a transparent and engaging administration, stressed that with dedication and teamwork, the ministry would improve its service delivery and maximize stakeholder satisfaction.
According to the statement, the governor’s special adviser on e-GIS and planning issues, Dr. Olajide Babatunde, described the commissioner as a square peg in a square hole who would bring the ministry the wealth of experience and expertise. the expertise needed to solve the challenges of the times.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Spatial Planning and Urban Development, Eng. Abiola Kosegbe, while giving a brief overview of his tenure, noted that the ministry would benefit immensely from the knowledge of the commissioner as a reputable engineer, who has distinguished himself as an accomplished civil servant.
Permanent secretaries who had worked with him in other ministries and parastatals also praised Bamgbose-Martins.
