Farer World Timer Gold Edition: Affordable Luxury World-Time Watch Review (2026)

The World of Affordable Luxury: Farer's World Timer Collection Shines Brighter

Elevating the everyday wristwatch to a global timepiece.

When Farer introduced its World Timer collection in 2019, it was a game-changer. The idea of an affordable world-time watch seemed almost too good to be true. But Farer proved that quality and accessibility could coexist.

And now, they're taking it up a notch with a touch of elegance. The British brand has expanded its esteemed World Timer series, introducing a trio of new models, including a striking debut: gold-accented versions.

But here's where it gets interesting: Farer isn't just adding a splash of color or a new material. They're refining their entire lineup, basing it on their most popular model, the Roché. This strategic move ensures a cohesive design language while offering variety in colors and lume treatments.

The Newest Additions:

Among the three new models, two share a captivating new dial color, while the third showcases an existing dial style with a golden twist.

Introducing the Thorne, a burgundy beauty with a barleycorn guilloché pattern. Its rotating inner bezel, featuring 24 cities, is also in burgundy, creating a harmonious design. The world map at the dial's center adds a touch of contrast with burgundy oceans and gold-colored continents. The indices, made of Lumicast, and the handset, filled with lume, complete the elegant look.

The Thorne comes in two variations: plain steel and gold PVD-coated steel. The gold-coated version, dubbed Thorne Gold, elevates the design with a gold-colored handset and a yellow gold PVD coating on the entire 38mm stainless steel case, including both crowns.

But wait, there's more! Farer also applied the gold treatment to the Foxe model, which features a forest green dial with mint green accents. This trio of watches is not just about aesthetics; they're powered by the Sellita SW331-2 automatic movement, a modified version of the SW330 GMT, offering a rotating 24-hour disc instead of a GMT hand.

The World at Your Wrist:

Using the world-time function is a breeze. Simply align the hour with your current time zone on the inner bezel, and you can instantly read the time in 24 cities worldwide. The movement's globe-themed rotor, visible through the sapphire caseback, adds a touch of whimsy.

Pricing and Availability:

The two gold-accented models and the plain steel Thorne are permanent additions to Farer's World Timer collection, joining the existing Roché and plain steel Foxe. The plain steel Thorne is priced at $1,715, while the gold-accented models, Thorne Gold and Foxe Gold, are slightly higher at $1,790. With various strap options available, these watches offer exceptional value for world-time enthusiasts.
