Applications for the free workshop of the OHINA filmmakers’ laboratory expected on August 20

HONOLULU (KHON2) – The deadline to submit an application for the free ‘OHINA Filmmakers Lab for 2021 is August 20.

The top 10 applicants will learn from film industry professionals in November for a few days.

A candidate will receive the “OHINA Greenlight Award”, as well as the possibility of obtaining funding and production support to turn their screenplay into a completed short film.

Past workshop facilitators included the following:

  • Rob Letterman (Pokémon Detective Pikachu Writer / Director)
  • Brothers Aaron and Jordan Kandell (story by Moana credits)
  • Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok co-writer)
  • Dana Ledoux-Miller (TV Newsroom Writer)
  • Joe Robert Cole (Black Panther Co-Writer)

To apply, submit a maximum of 15 pages of your screenplay, an example short film or screenplay, your CV and a cover letter to www.Ohina.org

Winners will be notified on October 1.
